Vice President of Engineering

 Job Summary
The vice president of engineering manages and directs the engineering support/technology communication for the company. The priorities for this position include strategic planning of how current and future technologies can be promoted to customers, judgement of technology development trend, engineering support of acoustic, product design, system level evaluation as well as quality assurance and problem resolution. The ultimate goal of the vice president of engineering is to execute technology and product to meet company growth objectives and build up core competences in customer support.

  • Fully understand current technologies and industry technology trends, and communicate them clearly internally and externally
  • Build up strong relationship and smooth communication channels with customer engineering management team
  • Help company set direction for future technology development and investment
  • Actively participate in suggestions for product and design improvement and join discussions for manufacturing/implementation
  • Drive company engineering team to develop process for design, reporting, daily communication and other key activities and document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps
  • Develops and manages engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives.
  • Lead team to successfully recommend methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
  • Manage a team of engineers, both component and system level and build up talent pool for company’s US market.  
  • Resolving escalated customer complaints without the need for team lead intervention.

  • Master degree or above. BS and/MS degree in Engineering.   
  • 10+ years of working experience with minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is needed. 
  • Experience of working with factory or manufacturing related environment and experience of directly working with customer is a huge plus
  • Experience in consumer electronics industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving changes and teamwork skills to coordinate with multiple teams
  • Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
